Effective July 1, 2006:

For all academic
years beginning with the fall, 2006 semester, any disciplinary
records that are kept at the Office of Student Ethics will NOT
include the student’s social security number anywhere within the
file. The student’s file will be maintained only under the
student’s individual ten digit I.U. identification number.
Suspensions from the
University are noted on student transcripts during the period of
suspension.
Expulsions from the
University are permanently noted on student transcripts.
Student disciplinary
records are confidential and can be released only under certain
conditions and in compliance with federal law [Family
Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, amended in December,
